TOMOS USA representatives went to visit the TOMOS factory in Koper, Slovenia. The representatives were shown the moped factory that was recently renovated. The renovations included improvements in the painting line, assembly line, and workstation areas.
The factory also communicated the need to outsource the manufacturing of parts to Asia and India. This is due in part to the Euro vs Dollar exchange rate, higher European supplier cost, and the need for more effective working margins.
USA representatives were shown production of mopeds for 2008. Supply of mopeds for 2008 should start arriving in the USA by January 20 through May 20, 2008. At this time, the factory does not foresee any interruptions supplying the USA market with mopeds for 2008.
