Growing Demand (August 1, 2008)

The increase in fuel prices this summer has brought more customers to dealers’ showrooms nationwide to view and purchase TOMOS mopeds and scooters.  Dealers affirm that their customers are deciding to park their cars, trucks, and even motorcycles for better fuel mileage that the 50cc and 150cc TOMOS units obtain.  Gasoline prices might fall later in the year, but overall consumers’ minds have been made up that higher fuel prices are here to stay.

“Scooters and mopeds have always been an economic means of transportation” states TOMOS USA’s Sales Manger Doug Joseph.  “In Europe, Asia, South America, scooters and mopeds are a great way to get from point A to point B.  I think the USA is just starting to come around to using mass transit and now scooters and mopeds in some areas.”

TOMOS USA’s supply had been sold out during the June and July 08 time frame, but expects more supply in August.  TOMOS USA’s Doug Joseph thinks that supply will catch back up to demand although it will be early in the 4th quarter.
